The Assistant Breeder will support the breeding program by planning and evaluating the early generation material and screening nurseries.
By liaising across the organization, the Assistant Breeder will ensure effective planning and execution of nurseries
The Assistant Breeder will work to ensure the successful running of the breeding programs through data management and other ongoing operational activities.
The Assistant Breeder will be also involved in the crossing phase and they will be taking care of the pollen extraction phase and the successful crossing process.
What you bring to Mattivi Group:
Broad knowledge of agronomy, pathology and crop science.
Knowledge in plant breeding and trialing.
High attention to detail and the ability to recognize and observe small deviations.
Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills (hands).
Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work well with people from different ethnic backgrounds.
Effective oral & written communication skills at all levels of the organization.
Willingness to learn new skills and be part of a team.
